Inuyasha, by Rumiko Takahashi, is a cartoon about a teenage girl, Kagome,
that gets taken back in time to the Middle Ages of Japan. Inuyasha means Dog Demon, who is the hero of the show.
He befriends Kagome and they take on this quest to rid Japan of this evil demon, Naraku. Along the way, they befriend,
Shippo, a fox demon,
Maroku, a monk,
Sango, a demon slayer,
Kikyo, a priestess,
Koga, a wolf demon,
and Sesshomaru, Inuyasha's brother.
This cartoon is a big hit with anime fans, on Cartoon Network's night time anime runs, and has had quite a few seasons. I recommend that children should be 13 or older to watch this show due to some spurts of blood, flying demon body parts, and more advanced storyline than what younger children would understand. It is a good show, even for adults, with many action packed scenes, multiple characters, relationships, and development. Also, the action scenes don't repeat themselves for 5 minutes at a time, like other animes have a tendency to do. I also enjoy it that each character in the party plays a pivotal role in the show, versus other shows that they start to make the other characters obsolete as the show goes on. I recommend to give this show a chance, or to at least let your 13 year old or older to watch it.
